Youthful Clock Part 1

(idk if anyone cares but i made a playlist for this but it was originally for a larger part 1 but that never got written so...yeah... )

The darkening sky suddenly lit up with a violent spark of lightning bursting through the atmosphere. The rain pelted down on the dust covered floor-length window pane as two piercing brown eyes gazed out. It had been a long time since those eyes had witnessed the outside world without a sheet of glass confining them. The dark figure who the eyes belonged to sighed and turned back towards the inside of the tower he had been forced to call home. The world outside continued on its own journey, constantly developing and expanding, over the past 10, 50, 100 years the world changed so drastically he no longer could say for sure that it was the same land he was once free to roam through.

The worn-down wooden floor groaned under his weight as he made his way from the large window that stretched itself from ceiling to floor to the desk and slid into the dark purple leather chair that once had grooves that prodded into his behind but over the years he had worn down to a smooth surface. His smooth pale hand wavered over the top drawer momentarily before he drew out a silver chain which was concealed by his clothes and grabbed the smaller of the two keys on the chain and unlocked the drawer. He snatched out the leather bound book and placed it on the desk in front of him. He traced the gold printed letters that age had not worn on the front of the cover:

"To Do Kyungsoo~

May you seal your memories within these pages"

It had been years since Kyungsoo gathered enough control to open the book without ripping out pages in an act of bitter rage. Nowadays he just about managed to gaze upon the front cover with it's gold printed letters above the hole where he had torn off the name of his old friend and cause of all his anger.

Another bolt of lightning lit up the room, revealing the clock-covered walls, each clock ticking silently to a different time. Kyungsoo ran his hand slowly through his jet black hair. The chair groaned slightly as he relaxed into the back of it. Drumming his fingers on the dark purple leather sides of the chair he sighed and shut his eyes, the storm outside lulling him into a restless sleep.

A loud bell toll echoed through the tower and woke Kyungsoo from the dreams that had captured his sleeping thoughts. Flashes of images of a tall, dark haired figure grinning cheekily as he jumped from the second-storey floor-length window, landing safely into the bright sunlit yard and running off carelessly into the over grown plants and away into the world danced through Kyungsoo's half-asleep brain. He jerked up from his seat quickly and ran from the room brightly lit by the morning sun shining through the large floor-length window into the dark hallway which had a long winding staircase running up through it. He took the stairs two at a time to the top floor of the 4 storey tower and stopped just before the large oak door which was almost twice as tall as him.

His wrinkled hand clasped gently around the brass handle and he carefully yet firmly twisted it until a small clicking noise was heard and the oak door creaked open. Kyungsoo stepped into the large dark room taken up by one huge clock on the back wall furthest from him which possessed a back light, the only source of light in the large room. The large metal hands of the clock edged backwards with every passing minute. Kyungsoo hobbled over to the ground to the left of the clock and opened up a concealed trapdoor. He reached into it and heaved out a medium sized black and gold chest. He placed it on the cold dark ground next to the clock as he pulled out his silver chain of keys and fitted the bigger of the two keys into the keyhole. The chest sprang open as soon as he turned the key and he grabbed the large shiny bar which had ancient characters of a long forgotten language scrolled over it. He stumbled recklessly over the the other side of the huge clock and grasped the edge of the clock where a small black disc shape was concealed. His wrinkled grey hands edged forward and slowly slide the disc across and jammed the bar into the hole behind the disc.

A brilliant flash of light erupted from behind the clock and Kyungsoo's felt a sharp pain run through his arm from the bar and consume his body within seconds. With another flash the pain worsened and then suddenly both the pain and the light vanished. He looked up, dazed, and sighed. This was one experience he never got used to.
