Linnie~ Welcome home! ;P
(This is named after a song none of you know. It's by Blink-182 and I listened to it a lot while writing this so I thought I might as well call it that! Plus I googled it and it means "weakness" which I think is pretty cool.~)
"Wake up!" the loud voice boomed as a hand slapped the sleeping boy's head. The boy groaned and turned over, not wanting to get up.
"Hyung!!" the voice had screamed.
He jumped from his bed and looked around tentatively. The others shot him confused looks.
"What the hell is up with the new guy?" one of them mumbled to another who shrugged apathetically and walked off.
~~
As the hall emptied the boy stood there in a daze.
Was he crying?
Endless thoughts of what had happened racked his brain but no matter how hard he tried he couldn't remember. At all. He wasn't even sure if there was anything to remember in the first place. But something felt odd. Different. And he would get sudden flashes of images in his head. Ones that left him in a state of shock.
~~
"Aren't you supposed to be going somewhere?" a voice called gently from behind him.
He whipped his head around to see a blond girl standing there, hands on her hips and a curious expression on her face.
"Umm.." he stumbled across any response. "Am I?"
The girl stared at him in shock. "You-you do realise what kind of a place this is?" she exclaimed. "You can't just wander aimlessly around here. They won't like that at all."
"Who?" he wondered.
Again she shot him that look, the one that made him feel like an alien on a distant planet. "Are you serious?!!" His innocent confused eyes met hers and she took a step back. "Omo. You really don't know.."
Sharp footsteps were audible approaching them. The boy looked past the blond girl to where they were coming from. The sound seemed strangely familiar, like he had heard it in a dream.
The girl gasped and grabbed his arm, pulling him off down the corridor away from the footsteps.
After a few minutes spent running from hall to hall the girl slid open a door and darted into the dark room, pulling the boy with her. They stood there for a moment, gasping for breath and listening out for the footsteps. When they heard nothing they both sighed with relief.
"You..you're the new guy right?" she said looking up into his deep, lost looking, brown eyes.
"I..I must be..I can't really remember.." he frowned.
She gazed at him curiously. "What do you mean you can't remember?"
"I woke up here and well..I don't know how I got here or what happened before..Just some snaps of what might have.." he whispered as the reality of his situation finally hit him.
The girl bit her lip. She had heard this same story before, more than once.
~~
"W-what's your name? Do you know that much?" she finally broke the silence that had formed.
The boy paused, racking his brain for a response. Suddenly she noticed that his eyes had began to tear up and he was clearly fighting hard to keep himself under control. His hands began to shake and he shook his head.
"Oh.." she felt pity on the boy. He was a bit older than her but she could see that he was lost and needed help. She looked up into his glazed eyes and smiled brightly. "Don't worry," she soothed. "I'll help you remember."
He couldn't help but to smile down at her. He hadn't known this girl for an hour and already she was willing to help him. He was relieved but part of him felt as if he might not want to know what had happened.
"Thank you," he whispered after taking time to calm himself down.
"No problem," she beamed. "Oh, and I'm Linn by the way."
~~
"This is the dorm you woke up in, right?" Linn called out to the boy following close behind her.
He looked around slowly and then nodded.
"Yes, there is where I woke up." He pointed to the only bed in the room that didn't have neatly folded sheets.
"Could have guessed that.." Linn muttered. "You always have to fold your bed sheets neatly like the rest. Or..well..never mind about that.."
He looked at her curiously, wondering whether he really should be curious about what it was she was keeping from him.
She glanced back and noticed his furrowed brows. Smiling brightly to try lighten the mood she called, "Well, let's see if there's any clues here to who you are!"
He nodded in reply and joined her in searching the bed and it's surroundings.
Suddenly he gasped. Linn turned around quickly and dropped the book she had been leafing through as she noticed a small piece of paper in the boy's shaking hands.
"Yes.." he whispered. "This is it." His grip on the paper loosened and it fell downwards.
Linn reached out and grabbed it before it fluttered to the ground. The paper read:
~Choi Minho~
~9/12/91~
~Dorm 7~
~Full term B5~
"Oh."
That's all she could say.
Minho, Choi Minho.
Her suspicion had been confirmed, he was like those few others. She stared at the paper again.
"B5.." she sighed.
~~
"MINHO!!!" he screamed. But I couldn't get to him. Not in time.
~~
"W-what does that m-m-mean?" he stuttered pointing to the B5.
Linn looked up into his dark eyes. She gave him a weak smile. She couldn't lie.
"It means...It means.." she took a large breath before continuing. "It means that you are being held here. That they can use whatever..force..is necessary to keep you here..." She trailed off.
"What happened?" Minho thought aloud. "All I remember is the screams.."
Suddenly his arms shot out and his large hands clasped around Linn's arms. His nails slightly digging into her, he pulled her over directly in front of him. "Help me," his voice was filled with desperation. "Something happened. Something bad. I have to know what!"
She tried to pull back gently from his tightening grip. "I will."
"Promise?" he almost shouted at her.
"I p-promise."
"Thank you."
Before Linn could break free from him he pulled her into a hug. She stood there for a moment in shock as his arms held her close. After a while he let go and looked down in sudden embarrassment from his rash actions.
"Sorry.." he muttered quietly.
~~~~~
"Do you think that this is enough?!!" the voice spat at me. "Get back to the gutter you dog! There's no place for you here. And take your little bitch too!"
He shoved me away and then smashed his fist into the back of the boy in front of me. He looked familiar.
The boy let out a yelp of pain and fell to the ground. The man laughed, "Maybe we'll take this bitch for ourselves. Seems like fun, doesn't he?" The others around him who had watched earlier now nodded, twisted smiled on each of their faces.
It filled me with disgust.
"No!" I shouted as I reached forward to grab onto my fallen friend. A hand whipped out and snatched my outstretched arm and twisted it behind my back.
"Oh well you have asked for it," the man called maliciously. "Let the fun begin!"
