Asthenia ~ Part Two
(I got annoyed with what I had written so I decided to split off the bit I was happy with and continue with the other part, trying to improve it somehow...Maybe I should really plan a fanfic before I start writing it..?)
It had been two weeks since that nightmare but Minho still heard the dark malevolent voice echo in his head and the soft whimpers seemed to never leave his mind. Linn knew something was wrong. If he seemed bad on the first day, the next one was awful! He had totally switched off. Drew away from everything. Something had happen. And Linn had to know what.
One dark Tuesday night she decided to approach him. She knew where he would be, it was where he spent most of his time. He sat upon a moss-covered step that led up to the abandoned caretakers cabin. It was a secluded spot. Perfect.
~~
"Minho..?" she called gently. He didn't look up. He knew it was her, she sometimes visited the spot, knowing he would be there with his usual distant look in his eyes. "Come with me."
He glanced up at her, slightly taken aback. Usually she would just sit with him as he tried to recall all the memories, or maybe they were delusions. Linn stretched out her hand in front of him and patiently waited for him to decide.
Eventually his warm fingers grasped around her palm and he stood up. Nodding at her slowly he mumbled "Where..?"
"You'll see."
He raised an eyebrow and she just smiled and dragged him away from his personal prison.
~~
"I've been researching," she informed him. He cocked his head to the side and she quickly added, "You."
"Oh.." he whispered.
"Yes. It seems Choi Minho is a difficult person to come by. But not impossible! After a long time searching I eventually found this."
She placed a small bundle of sheets in his hands. He looked down at them closely. Snapping his head up he shouted out, "Where did you get this?!"
~~
"You really know the best people to hang out with, don't you?!" I spat sarcastically at him. I shouldn't be this hard on him. I know I shouldn't. But I couldn't stop myself. All this anger that had built up from..
"Hyung, I'm so so sorry," he gasped between his silent tears. I hadn't noticed he was crying. I should have. Now I've just made it worse.
~~
"I'm s-sorry," she whispered, taken aback by his sudden anger. "I didn't think it was that.."
"It is!" he snapped. "It is...."
At that he dropped the papers on the ground and ran from the room.
I have to get out. I have to find him.
"Yah!" Linn shouted after him. "You're a B5 remember!"
But her warning was too weak to penetrate his determined mind. As soon as he reached the metal gates that barred the facility from the rest of the world he realised that this wasn't going to be as easy as he had thought. He leaped forward onto the smooth large bars and began the slow process of climbing up.
Shouts from not too far away started ringing out but he ignored them and continued. A loud siren rang out and he fell to the ground as the electricity switch was turned on.
He lay motionless as the guards gathered around him.
"Stupid kid.." one of them muttered.
~~
"Minho oppa!" Linn gasped. It was the first time in two weeks she had seen him. Ever since the day he tried to run he had disappeared from everyone's knowledge. That's just how things work here. Nobody asks questions, nobody thinks at all.
Linn ran forward and stopped just short of him. She looked up into the brown eyes and the worry that had led to sleepless nights for her resurfaced. His eyes were blank, distant, confused.
"Umm..me?" he mumbled slowly pointing a slender finger at his chest. "Minho?"
He glanced down at the blond girl in front of him.
~~
"MINHO!!!" he screamed. Who was he? And why was he screaming like that?
